Our New Build Homes

Serving the Greater Southeastern Wisconsin Area

We Don't Build Houses, We Build Homes

Stepping Stone Homes has the unique position of having most of our team members come from many years – and in most cases – decades of new construction build experience.  From our Construction Manager and Purchasing Manager to our Design Team and Project Manager, each has a unique perspective of how quality is essential to our approach of building homes.  As a tight-knit team, we produce houses that not only look beautiful, but also stand the test of time. Our New Home Construction Standards

Smart Homes

Technology is all around us and always evolving, don’t leave your home behind. Always on the cutting edge of technology, we equip all our homes with Smart Technology to make your life a breeze. Ask our sales representative for a list of exciting current tech installations.

2x6 Construction

Whereas most builders use 2×4’s for their outside walls, we use 2×6 studs to create stronger, sturdier walls.

Also, all the walls in our new homes are built 16” on center instead of the typical 24” on center others use to save on lumber and labor costs. This creates a much sturdier wall and makes it easier for you when searching for studs to hang shelves in the future.

Eight Foot Garage Doors

Whereas many new home builders use seven foot high doors to save money, we always install eight foot high doors to make sure any size family vehicle can fit inside the garage.

Kitchen

  • Soft close kitchen doors and drawers provide a cleaner look with far less noise.
  • Quartz counter tops are installed instead of granite.  Quartz is sealed and a far more durable surface.
  • Kitchen drawers are a solid wood dovetail construction to last longer.
  • Crown moulding and hardware on cabinets for a more detail rich kitchen.
  • Upgraded garbage disposal to break up extra-tough food waste.
  • Under cabinet lighting to illuminate your kitchen workspace.

Insulation & Windows

  • Exterior walls – R-19 batt insulation
  • Ceilings – R-50 blown insulation
  • Foundation – R-5 foam full wall height insulation (minimum)
  • Low-E double pane insulated windows.  Blocks 84% of sun’s fading ultraviolet rays

Water

  • Pre-plumbed water softener loop is built in at construction allowing you to add a water softener at any time
  • 65 gallon heat pump water heater
  • Water line for icemaker
  • PEX water distribution lines

Basement

  • Lower level features a full bathroom rough in for future finishing
  • Sub slab venting system in basement – active radon mitigation system
  • Sealed sump pump pit with submersible pump
  • MERV 11 media filter in the furnace

2x6 Construction

  • Solid core inside doors (vs hollow core) which are sturdier and help with sound
  • 3/4″ standard sub floor
  • Wider baseboards and casing than most new home builders

Bathrooms

  • Towel bars and toilet paper holders are installed
  • LED Lighting
  • Every home is certified by an energy expert
