Standard Amenities

Stepping Stone Homes has the unique position of having most of our Team members come from many years – and in most cases – decades of new construction experience.  From our Construction Manager and Purchasing Manager to our Design Team and Project Manager, each has a unique perspective of how quality is so important to our approach of building homes.  And together, we produce houses that stand the test of time.

Compare the below standards included in our homes with other builders in the area.  Ask if they include each of the following:

Smart Home

Always on the cutting edge of technology, we equip all our homes with Smart Technology to make your life a breeze. Ask our sales representative for a list of exciting current tech installations.

2×6 Construction

Whereas most builders use 2×4’s on their outside walls, we use 2×6 studs to create  stronger, sturdier walls.  (Hint: you can always tell when walking through homes by looking at the window ledges and noticing how wide they are.)

Eight Foot Garage Doors

Whereas many builders use seven foot high garage doors to save money, we always install eight foot high doors to make sure any size family vehicle can fit inside the garage.

Kitchen
  • Soft close kitchen doors and drawers providing a cleaner look and less noisy
  • Quartz counter tops are installed instead of granite.  Quartz is sealed and a more durable surface
  • Kitchen drawers are solid wood dovetail construction to last longer
  • Crown moulding and hardware on cabinets
  • Upgraded garbage disposal
  • Under cabinet lighting
Insulation & Windows
  • Exterior walls – R-19 batt insulation
  • Ceilings – R-50 blown insulation
  • Foundation – R-5 foam full wall height insulation (minimum)
  • Low-E double pane insulated windows.  Blocks 84% of sun’s fading ultraviolet rays
Water
  • Pre-plumbed water softener loop is built in at construction allowing you to add a water softener at any time
  • 50 gallon power vented gas water heater
  • Water line for icemaker
  • PEX water distribution lines
16″ on Center Studs

All of the walls in our homes are built 16″ on center instead of the typical 24″ on center.   Many builders add studs every 24″ to save on lumber and labor costs.  Again, we provide a much sturdier wall and it’s easier for you when searching for studs to hang shelves in the future.

Other Standard Amenities
  • Towel bars and toilet paper holders are installed
  • LED Lighting
  • Every home is certified by an energy expert
Basement
  • Lower level features a full bathroom rough in for future finishing
  • Sub slab venting system in basement – active radon mitigation system
  • Sealed sump pump pit with submersible pump
  • MERV 11 media filter in the furnace
Doors, Floors, Trim
  • Solid core inside doors (vs hollow core) which are sturdier and help with sound
  • 3/4″ standard sub floor
  • Wider baseboards and casing than most builders

By adding these protocols as standard building practices, we continue to add to our reputation of being able to build quality homes at a great value, with beautiful results.
